from different disciplines/year groups.
BDes Hons Design for Visual Communication Y1, Y2, Y3 and Foundation Art and Design students worked on experimental activities based on the drawing of small plastic animals using memory, positive/negative, alternate hand, long handled brushes, ink, sponges, tooth picks, cocktail sticks, stencils, group paintings, 30 second and 10 minute drawings... Students were inspired by the drawings of Rachel Gannon, Fumie Kamijo and Chloé Regan from www.inkillustration.com and by Cy Twombly's paintings.
In the afternoon students made miniature models using cardboard and collage. Groups were made up of the different courses and year groups so that students could meet and interact with others, find out about likes and dislikes, make connections, share ideas, ask questions and have fun. The outcomes included a gallery of the work, projection of the workshop short film in the VisCom Atrium and an online gallery launch.
